It is a modular platform that utilizes a system of plugins and themes in order to provide a powerful and flexible system on which a variety of different website types can be built. How Secure are your Passwords?

key-lock
Password security. We've all heard this term before, but even today there are many people that use weak, easy to hack passwords. Do you really want your web site to be hacked? Do you really want your hosting account to be suspended? If you still think that "admin", "123456", "abc123", "passw0rd" or "superman" are cool passwords never to be cracked, please go to https://howsecureismypassword.net , test them and see how long it would take to do so. That's "Instantly"! Which means that a password guessing robot launched by some Russian or Chineese or American kid from a home PC will get your password right away, without spending even a fraction of a second on your site! And now please test something like *N@v7g(B4o ). This password now turns our "Instantly" into "4 thousand years". Do you see the difference? Impressive, isn't it? For those who are ready to bring their website...

Can Cheap Web Hosting Damage Your SEO?

Cheap Hosting Image

Free or cheap web hosting is alluring, especially for your first web site. But in saving a few bills a month, you could be sacrificing web traffic. Remember that price is just another factor to consider when choosing your host, along with customizable plans, tech specs, customer support, features, hardware, reviews, control panel, and location. Here’s how the wrong web host can disrupt your SEO plans.

Page Speed

40% of people abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load. Soon that number will be under a second. Page load time has been in Google’s search algorithms for the past three years. Slow page load time negatively affects SEO because of high bounce rates, resulting in fewer conversions.

If you have a website, go to Google Developers’ Pagespeed Insights to see how fast your website loads. If your site is on a cheap shared server, you may receive the following “high alert” warning:

Improve Server Response Time: Long web server response times delay page loading. Reduce your response times to make your page load faster.

Follow up on Cyber Attacks

It's almost 3:00 am, and after being hard at work all day attempting to gain the upper hand on this global cyber attack, we believe we've made some ground. However, during all of this we've made some important changes to make note of: 1. Firewall. The firewall will be less forgiving for a while. We've tweaked the firewall, adjusting the settings to it's most sensitive. As such, if it detects something that it interprets as "suspicious", the IP address where it originated will be blacklisted. Once we see activity on the servers stabilized, we'll look at gradually lowering the firewall threat level. 2. HTACCESS files. As mentioned in the previous email, this cyber attack was directed at popular web software platforms, such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, and many others. This evening we went through every account and placed an .htaccess file on the administrator folder for Joomla, or wp-admin for...
